TUTORING

NOT JUST GUITAR LESSONS...

MY VIEW ON TUTORING TALENT

*** In the new reality we live in, without personal, hands-on contact, I've decided to grow my pool of students via online and video lessons, each personally custom videoed and supplied, tailored to your learning needs. I will work with beginners and seasoned professionals to bring out the very best you have to offer. ***

Tuition & Mentoring - Guitar playing, first and foremost must be fun and rewarding, not endless drilling and focussing solely on grades. The last thing I want to see is a young person, or any age for that matter, having the life sucked out of this amazing experience by regimented approaches to tuition, because the teacher "does it that way". It must inspire you to express yourself.

It is incredibly important to me to pass on experience and knowledge to up-and-coming, or advanced musicians in a practical way; to give life-long essential business and performance skills to emerging talent. Without that, and the wealth of practical experience and advice (good and bad) I've been given from other musicians, I wouldn't know a tenth of what I do now. My goal is to offer that to you.

Of course, you can get music lessons anywhere and achieve your Grade 8 with most music teachers. But stagecraft, performance, equipment, music business, essential skills are all the things a working musician will need. You will need someone with 30+ years touring and recording experience to really avoid pitfalls and get you where you need to go - along with real, practical lessons in playing, production, technique and tone. I do that.

Take a look at what the benefits will be - you will NOT get this in a regular school music curriculum and it will set you apart.

My BIO page will show the credentials I have to make this happen for you.

I don't believe in short cuts per se, but the premise of my teaching is to create just that: useful short cuts to realising excellence, by focussing on the real needs of a gigging and recording musician. These are skills that I have learned over 30 years, but you do not need to wait so long to learn those skills and benefit from what I know. Experience is a good teacher, but a great teacher with international experience makes all the difference.
